Министарство унутрашњих послова Републике Српске позвало је грађане да дођу у Бањалуку и Дан Републике, 9. јануар, прославе у миру и достојанствено.

Из МУП-а је саопштено да тим поводом предузимају појачане мјере безбједности, а грађанима који ће доћи у Бањалуку на свечани дефиле савјетују да поштују наредбе полицијских службеника на терену и да са собом не носе пиротехничка средства и друге опасне предмете.

Савјет је и да због лакшег кретања и избјегавања стварања гужви, са собом не носе руксаке и торбе, као и да свако уз себе има неки идентификациони документ.

Наводи се и да је министар унутрашњих послова Републике Српске Драган Лукач издао наредбу о забрани превоза експлозивних материја у друмском саобраћају на подручју Републике Српске, осим за превоз пиротехничких средстава за извођење најављених ватромета у суботу и недељу, 8. и 9. јануара од поноћи до 24.00 часова.
